Areas at VISON

SWEETS VILLAGE

This area is produced by Hironobu Tsujiguchi. It is lined with patisserie cafes, chocolateries, bakeries, and more, where you can enjoy cakes and baked goods made with carefully selected ingredients using unique methods.

Marché VISON

A large selection of seafood and mountain produce from Mie Prefecture, including Matsusaka beef, spiny lobster, and abalone, is available. Take-out menus and outdoor BBQs are also available.

HONZO AREA

Through joint research between Mie University and Rohto Pharmaceutical, we offer "Honshogaku," a study of medicinal herbs. At our hot spring facility, you can enjoy herbal baths made with original recipes that change with the seasons. We promote beauty and health with honshogaku at the core.

WA-VISON

Featuring restaurants run by some of Japan’s top, most inspired chefs, this area also features a studio and specialty stores selling traditional Japanese ingredients like kelp, bonito soup stock, soy sauce, and miso paste. It holds workshops where you can learn about Japan’s food culture and craftsmanship as well.

FARM

The facility’s organic farm practices permaculture, incorporating sustainable farming systems and design. The menu of its on-farm restaurant features ingredients from the grounds as well as from other local growers. It provides the opportunity to learn about food through various experiences and workshops.

San Sebastián St.

Along this restaurant row you’ll find menus created by international and Japanese chefs using local Mie ingredients. With shared ties to gourmet food, the town of Taki and city of San Sebastián signed a “certificate of friendship,” and one of the city’s popular bars has opened its first restaurant in Japan here. The bustling area has various lifestyle shops as well.

WOOD PLAY AREA

With a theme of "People, Trees and Enriching Times," this hands-on experiential facility conveys the joy of seeing, touching, learning about, and enjoying real wood and the forest. It offers new forms of learning for everyone from children to adults through its concept of “wood play.”

Atelier VISON

A pottery and cooking utensil museum produced by ceramicist Koichi Uchida, featuring items from Japan and abroad. It has attractive, highly functional items that can be used day-to-day and are available for purchase.

Rather than enjoying a leisurely meal at one bar, bar hopping is the way of the locals in San Sebastián. VISON will give you an authentic taste of the Basque region.
